New for post summer (and post Ibiza) dance
compilations, comes Trance Nation 4 boasting all the lasted Trance
songs. Mixed by Ferry Corsten and System F, this is the fourth Trance
Nation from the Ministry of Sound.
With the current rise in popularity of Garage, Trance
has somewhat taken a back seat this summer, with the majority of Holiday
goers heading to Ayia Napa rather than Ibiza. This is perhaps reflected
in this album's track line up. The majority of the tracks have already
appeared on the Ibiza Annual, also from the Ministry. Admitly, the
tracks are in a different order and mixed by different DJ's but that's
not the point. We have heard them before and want some new music. It
perhaps, would be so bad except Ultimate Ibiza, also from Ministry of
Sound was released on the same day. Worst of all, 75% of the tracks are
the same as that on Trance Nation 4, same mixes and everything.
Although we were waiting for a while for Trance Nation
4, it's not acceptable to dish out the stuff we already have, and worst
still release a near identical album at the same time. There must be
more songs out there we haven't heard and need listening to.
Having said this, if you want a good 'Trancy' album
and haven't bought one in a while, then you won't be disappointed by
this one. Tracks to listen out for would be "Two Tribes" by
Frankie Goes To Hollywood and "Bassfly" by Tillman & Ries
although most tracks are faultless. Perhaps, most annoying is
"Zombie Nation" as it's on every single compilation I've seen
and is getting on everyone's nerves by now.
